Some of the young people from Beam Creative Network’s ImagineAction project had the fantastic opportunity to showcase their talent as they topped the bill at the unveiling of the Olympic Rings at Belfast City Hall last week.

Performing in front of over 4,000 people, including the Secretary of State, Owen Paterson, Minister of Culture Arts and Leisure, and the Lord Mayor of Belfast, the young Donaghmore group had the crowd rocking with an Olympic inspired medley and dance routine.

Beam Creative Network has been heavily involved in the build-up to the games through their London 2012 inspired project, ImagineAction.

Kathryn O’Neill, Beam Manager said “This was an amazing opportunity to showcase the work we have produced at such a prestigious event. The young people did themselves and community proud”.

ImagineAction performer Emily McKenna said “We have come so far…from small performances at the Bardic Theatre to now performing at Belfast City hall. It’s an experience we will never forget!”
