Testimonials for Beam Creative Network

I have recently worked with the staff at Beam Creative Network on a Civic Pride programme which was developed and delivered with both local primary school children and adults within different communities.

At every stage throughout this programme the staff at Beam Creative Network kept the Council informed of how the programme was developing.

To conclude this programme Beam Creative Network worked tirelessly with the primary school children to deliver a drama performance on community pride which was of a very high standard. They also produced a DVD and information booklet on the civic pride programme which was again of a very high quality.

The process of how the Beam Creative Network delivered this programme is now seen as a model of good practice within the Council and we are already planning to work with Beam Creative Network on other programmes in the near future.

I would have no hestitation in recommending Beam Creative Network to other organisations.

"Just to record the appreciation of the participating students and staff of the four cluster schools regarding the professionalism, enthusiasm and ultimately successful deliverance of the showcase performance "Lets Perform Together". The experiences, development and enhancement of skills augmented by the measurable enthusiasm evidenced in participating students was largely as a result of the tuition and direction given by the Beam Creative Network tutors. A sincere thank-you from all the schools involved"

"As part of out extended schools programme a cluster group of schools consisting of St. Malachy's P.S. Ballymoyer, Keady Primary School, St. Michael's P.S. Clady and St. Francis of Assisi P.S. Keady presented a dramatisation of Anti Bullying in Armagh City Hotel. Beam Creative Network worked with the pupils of all four schools enabling the children to understand the horror of bullying in all its forms.

The programme was presented through Music/Song/Drama format.

I compliment Beam Creative Network for their professionalism and expertise in how this issue was addressed. The pupils learned a lot and enjoyed working with the personnel from Beam Creative Network. Thank you all very much"

"The staff at the Beam Creative Network centre delivered a very professional level of service to us when we needed it most – They proved to be an extremely efficient and cost effective event management company, even when we pushed them to the limits! - The event was the most successful one to date"

"The Dungannon and South Tyrone Borough Council's Race Relations Project was delighted to work alongside with Beam Creative Network to produce a promotional DVD for our Independent Reporting Scheme for Racist Incidents and Racial Discrimination. It is motivating to see a social economy production company with such a professional and quality assurance approach and focus on customer satisfaction"

"Beam Creative Network (Beam) put together an innovative, inter-active and fun programme which we felt would best get across the impact that ASB can have on young people, their peers and the wider community. Beam in addition to devising and delivering the programme also actively involved themselves in relation to selling the benefits of the project to schools in the Armagh Council area. In total they delivered 9 inter-active workshops involving some 350 young people.

I have found Beam to be a thoroughly professional, pro-active and enthusiastic organization who delivered this project to an extremely high standard. The evaluation from both pupils and staff clearly showed that the young people who participated in the workshops were much more aware of the consequences of becoming involved in Anti-social behaviour. The partnership would have absolutely no problems in recommending Beam to other agencies in relation to project delivery."

"Beam Creative Network facilitated open discussions in a safe and secure environment for a group of young people who had experienced the care system. They used various mediums within the arts including drama and film production to explore their feelings and thoughts of the care system. This type of delivery enhanced the young people's ability to convey key messages in the role of education and training of social workers.

The film produced is now used as a training tool, and the end product has fulfilled more than our expectations. It is valued by a broad range of multi professionals in raising standard of care and good practice."

The Bee Safe Project was introduced to Beam Creative Network who crafted an incredibly catchy, memorable song for use at the Bee Safe event.  The lyrics are extremely relevant (and very clever) and the girls who came along to teach our pupils were full of bounce and energy.  The kids loved this aspect of the programme – it really helped to underpin our safety message and meant that each session finished on a 'high'. Everyone at Beam seems to be unfailingly cheerful, imaginative and inventive and we can't wait to roll out our new 'anthem' across the rest of the Bee Safe events.  A big thank you to everyone involved – I can't recommend you highly enough!  I wish you every success in your future endeavours.

Stephanie McVicker
Bee Safe Regional Project Officer

"The children most definitely enjoyed the workshops.  Their cooperation skills, thinking skill, problem solving skills, social and expressive skills were all developed.  The Beam staff were courteous, friendly, well prepared and most professional in all their work with the school.  We look forward to availing their expertise in the future"

Mary Hampsey, Principal, St. Patricks Primary School Dungannon

"The workshops were well organised and appropriately pitched.  Our pupils enjoyed the sessions and came away with a better understanding of the issues involved (anti-social behaviour).  I would happily host another series of workshops next year."

Mr W. Harpur, Principal, Ballycastle High School.

"BEAM Creative Network were approached to undertake and facilitate a project identified at a grass roots level by members of Newry Neighbourhood Renewal health sub group.  The aim of the project was to create awareness of the emotional aspect of overeating and the impact on the person' life.  There was a passion to let others know that it is not enough to say "Eat less and exercise more"

The manager of BEAM, was briefed on an initial meeting on what was hoped to be achieved and at this meeting the idea to produce an educational DVD was muted and agreed. Highly skilled BEAM staff, with  relevant experience were allocated to the project.

While this was a serious subject the making of the DVD was fun and light and BEAM staff ensured that those taking part were given the skills and encouragement to speak in front of the camera about very personal issues relating to their obesity.

All of the staff embraced the project and because of their empathy, skills and expertise the women who took part were able to open up for the first time publicly how overeating was affecting them and their families.  The BEAM staff that worked on this project are to be commended for their input into this very sensitive subject.

Their personalities and skills have brought the subject of the emotional side of overeating to a new dimension.

Many Thanks to Kathyn (Manager) Jim (Voice Coach) Emma (Script writer) and Gary (Camera Man)

I have recently completed a project with BEAM and I would like to express my admiration for the group. From the outset they demonstrated great openness and willingness to take on challenging ideas (a project about men and mental health in rural areas). They displayed a very high degree of organisational and management skills and were able to deliver the budget within timescale and budget. Their approach was always friendly and negotiative. I would be really delighted to work with this group again and hope to do so in the future. I am happy to comment further on their strengths.

Yours sincerely

We have worked with Beam Creative Network over the past 2 years to deliver drama workshops and puppet shows for the children. Their professionalism and attention to detail is commendable. Their style of delivery ensured that the children not only thoroughly enjoyed the shows but retained the messages given

BEAM recently wrote, directed and designed costumes for a play based on St Patrick’s walk through County Monaghan for our society. There were five rural primary schools involved and almost a hundred children, most of whom had no drama experience at all. We were absolutely delighted with the performance and the song BEAM wrote is being sung all over the county. The play was fantastic fun, a confidence boost for the schools, teachers and children involved, and something we will all remember. Everyone wants to do it again!
